Technology is defined as a body of knowledge used to create tools, develop skills, and extract or collect materials. The rapid and constant pace of change in technology in today’s world is creating so many opportunities for schools all over Jamaica. Some of these opportunities include greater access to rich, multimedia content, the increasing use of online course taking to offer classes not otherwise available, the widespread accessibility of mobile computing devices that can access the Internet, the expanding role of social networking tools for learning and professional development, and the growing interest in the power of digital games for more personalized learning. Education is defined as the act or process of conveying or obtaining particular knowledge or skills, as for a profession. Basically, combining education and technology creates a more exciting learning environment. Therefore, technology must be incorporated into the everyday curriculum in order to accomplish high er order thinking skills such as critical and independent thinking.
